    backdoor?

can anyone confirm wheter or not the new HL has some sort of backdoor that enables authorities/authorized companies to track and hunt down copyright infringements? maybe it's just a rumor but i think nobody wants to take a chance here....

    Re: Backdoor

Now I do now know the rules on this, but would a backdoor be illegal cause it could give the authorities unauthorized access to legit people's computers. I dunno. I love hotline and would love to see it make a comback that is both good for the community and for the application itself. Nice to see an OS X version now.

    Time will tell...

    HL community sucks

large parts of the hotline community consists of sorry a** losers. nowadays they charge you through PayPal and the like or ask for impossible uploads. HL used to be cool back in the day when most servers were open to everybody, free access etc. if everybody had kept their server public we wouldn't have any problem with leechers either (see kazaa, limewire and so on).

    First of all?

Hinks is a little b¡tch! He didn't get screwed over he tried to s**** them over. Second most Hotlie servers sucks big time, any little "app kiddie" who charges access to his server deserves to have the FEDs knockin' on his door. The software is bloated and buggy (banners are lame). They need to look at the killer clone apps out there to see how it should be done. Also this isn't the first release for OS X this is the second and it's a pretty pathetic update. Both 1.8.5 client and server are c*** in OS X. Hotline has the potential to be on top again, but only if the little greedy whores go away.

    All HL Chargers...

should be fined! If you want to let others in on your server to trade stuff for free, I have no problem with that. But its when these jerkoffs start charging $5-50 to let you in, so you can download something they can't legally sell, nor do they legally own. I wish the gov't would arrest these b*******. But, the truly sad thing is, that this scheme wouldn't work unless people were actually willing to pay for it! Sad.
