Formac updates Studio dv/tv for iMovie 3

Formac today announced an features special iMovie 3 preferences, adjusting the audio and video settings of the Studio™ dv/tv for optimal recording quality in iMovie 3. The settings are automatically activated every time iMovie™ 3 is launched. Additionally, the Studio TVR software includes a special iMovie remote control, allowing users to select TV channels and video sources directly in iMovie.

The update also includes Formac's new Audiomaster software, which allows users of the upgraded Studio dv/tv to record audio in high-quality DV audio format. The software provides three digital audio modes, allowing user to determine the quality of audio by adjusting bitrate and sample resolution. The standard setting for the DV audio is 32Khz at 12-bit, while two other high-quality settings area available: 44.1Khz and 48Khz at 16-bit. Audio recorded with Formac’s Audiomaster software can be imported directly into iTunes and converted to MP3.




Formac's upgrade program is available for free for owners of the latest
versions of the Studio dv/tv, equipped with an EPROM version of 1.06 or
higher via free software updates. Owners of earlier versions of Formac's Studio dv/tv can upgrade their studio for a flat service charge of $50. This charge includes labor & parts for the hardware upgrade and a new software CD. It will be available through the end of March 2003.
