Google was by branding junkies with 15 percent of the vote, while Apple was second, beating out giants such as Coca-Cola and Starbucks to the top slot. The respondents, who were described as "above averagely intelligent" professionals and students from over 72 countries, were asked which brand had made the most impact on their lives in 2002, either positively or negatively.

    Where's Microsoft?

    Hey? Where's Microsoft? Where's Dell?

Intel may have a 3Ghz processor, but this is why Apple will never die. It's all about the brand.

    Hey...

BMW myth dork...get off it already...on how many other threads are you going to post that? You know how many Dell mouses I've replaced last year in a lab of 30 computers? ALL OF THEM. I've got an Apple II mouse that still works like new....and it's 15 years old.

    either good or bad?

Wouldn't it be better to be in the top X best brands list here. Even announcing the results of a survey or doing the research in the first place, some people just get it all wrong.

BMW myth dork.... has probably never owned a BMW, if so has no idea how to maintain any vehicle competently or how much parts for some imports cost. I still gots my TG joysticks for apple II+'s and they work, but who would ever want to use a mouse in the first place? I hadn't had to replace a mouse until I had to replace the one that came with my parents pc.....over and over and over...

Apple needs to work on its customer relations. Apple almost always tops customer service list w/ hp. Now the phone help is terrible. If you call in with a hardware problem they still act like you're running your mouse over your screen and the arrow isn't moving. The quality control is pretty good, but when something is defective apple stores should work more like dealers. and.... I don't think any computer manufacturer should get away with selling machines with broken/stuck pixels. Blame the politicians...there should be open reporting of failed component volume percentages, if not just of items, a good lemon law for machines and peripherals, and a mandatory recall system for features which prevent operation completely (some others too)...

After all, if you want to compare products directly you would have to put the same external controls on the computer industry as you have on the car industry.
