Apple price protection policy angers reseller

updated 09:47 am EST, Thu January 4, 2001

Following the significant price cuts by Apple a few days ago, one reseller notes that Apple is not offering price protection to dealers (i.e., providing compensation for the price drop), thus forcing dealers to sell products in their inventory below their cost. In the past, Apple has usually offered price protection for sudden price drops or provided adequete warning to dealers about pending price cuts.
