Gee, I don't know, a laptop needing only 10 watts and running at 1GHz, extending battery life even more. Yeah, why would anyone care. I guess you'd all be happier if it were a 3GHz running at 100 watts, with battery life of about 6 minutes

    well...because...

Try having a discussion with a PC user who only knows mhz. You probably would get out about this much:
"Gee, I don't know, a laptop needing only 10 watts and running at 1GHz, ..."
    When they blurt out...
    "BWAHAHAHAHA....1 GHZ...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH"
Apple has a serious problem, I really don't care if WE all know the significance of low power consumption, most people never knew that Beta was better than VHS either...

Try that with a Windows laptop and you'll be out by hour 2. I was on about 5 hours at max brightness with the iBook. With the IBM laptop (1.13Ghz P3 with SpeedStep) I have for work, I'm lucky to get 2 hours...

    OK, but still need more..

Good to see that speed is slooooowly coming up and power is still low, but for serious work I still need double-precision vector processing, other-wise I am forced back to FP calcs, for which MHz is not a myth. That's why we have a Linux-PC cluster instead of a Linux-Mac cluster. Will Motorola ever get the message????
