    Ho hum

    First post! (just kidding).

Well, at least it's 1 GHz, but the pricing is still too high (IMHO). No FireWire 800? (Haven't confirmed that, just didn't see it in MacNN's description.

Apple STILL needs a sub-$1000 headless machine (for people to add their own monitor or tube to it).

    Nice, but...

I like the move to DDR SDRAM, Airport Extreme, etc. 1Ghz is nice, too. However, for an upgrade that's been 13 months in the works, it seems pretty minor. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 13 months for another 25% speed increase.

    What I HATE ....

Doesn't Apple ever get it that a 'consumer' wants kick-a** options on graphic cards? No BTO anything, no upgrade even possible?

    Ho Hum My a**

How can you say Ho Hum when Apple just released, New PowerBooks, Improved PowerMacs, Improved iMacs, Airport Extreme, Bluetooth Compatibility, Safari, iLife, and Keynote? (I hope I didn't miss anything).

    Australian 17 inch iMac

The Australia apple store lists the 17 inch iMacs as having a GForce 2MX with 64mb. I'm hoping the 2 is a typo. I presume it's the same as the US model with a GeForce 4MX?

    re: Ho Hum

    I agree!!

Cut the monitor off the sucker and sell us an iDome (or insert other marketing name here).

I couldn't justify the cost of a tower mac for the longest time, I also couldn't justify giving up my 21" monitor to go to a iMac.

I don't think Apple gets consumers.

    I'd actually want ...

    ... a 2 button mouse as well!
