A MacNN reader reports receipt of his 12" PowerBook G4: "Just unpacked my cool new 12" Tin G4. My LA dealer got directly from Apple. No Tech-Data, No Ingram yet. Basic unit 256/40G with NO extreme airport card. Not yet avail. Very pretty black box!! Comes with 10.2.3 Build 6H28 and Quickbooks 5 New User Ed CD (not Quicken) Netscape and Explorer installed but no Safari." Meanwhile, MacNN reader John Byrne has posted . Another reader provided some more info on the new PowerBook: [updated]
"The new 12" PowerBook did not come with Safari, iLife or 10.2.4 installed. I assume there will probably be a small backlog of PBs manufactured before this Saturday's launch date that will not include the new versions of the iLife apps, and I wouldn't expect to see Safari coming installed until it officially out of beta (that's speculation on my part).
"The new keyboard on the machine is great. It's similar to the iBook keyboard, but the keys have a little bit more travel in them, and seem to have a bit more "snap" to them. Aside from the aluminum case, the 12" PB is very much in the style of the iBook form factor, only with smaller margins."
