    i thought...

... that THIS year's new york expo was still fine. it was just NEXT year's expo in boston that was in question. of course idg would offer your money back... if apple bails, all the other exhibitors will do just what they did for expo tokyo, and bail immediately, thus imploding the show. so what has idg got to lose?

    wheres the guarantee?

Unless i missed it, all IDG said was they'ed refund if Apple doesn't show. That's not a guarantee by any means, the title is misleading.

    Listen to Jobs....

He said, "I've got TWO Macworld's worth of stuff for you today".

He meant that Apple was not going to be at MWNY.

    Think about it.

    ;-)

    RE: where's the guarante

They guaranteed to the exhibitors that Apple was going to be there. If Apple doesn't show, exhibitors get their money back; if they do show, exhibitors stay.

Seems like a guarantee to me.

    Re: Re: where's the guar

"IDG has moved to reassure nervous exhibitors with a bold offer" doesn't sound like a guarantee, that's ancompensation should the expected not happen. Not a guarantee, just hopeful assurance.

    As for me....

For once, Ilike the position Microsoft may be taking. They may go regardless of whether Apple goes or not. And I'd hope other vendors would as well. When I got to MacWorld, I go to see the software/hardware from everyone displaying. While it's nice to see the new stuff from Apple, they are from from being the entire show. Unlike some who may hang out at the Apple booth for the entire day, I get around to see it all; even if it takes a few days. Apple or no Apple. I'll be going. I just hope I'm not the only one!
