Avid Technology (Expo booth 2239) announced , a free, DV-only version of its video editing software, which should be available in Q2 of 2003 for Mac OS X. The software offers two video tracks, four audio tracks, basic trimming and editing functions and up to two streams of real-time effects. Avid also announced a number of new Avid Xpress DV software training programs, including the opening of seventeen Avid Authorized Education Centers (AAECs) and the release of four Avid Xpress DV training books.
