Extensis (Expo booth 2223) today announced 3, a significant upgrade to its masking and selection tools for Adobe Photoshop. Version 3 features advanced color matching and decontamination for improved edge transparency, new chisel and blur tools, new highlighter tools, and real-time previews. Upgrades to the $200 application are $100. Competitive upgrades are $170. It will be available for both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.

Extensis also announced Portfolio 6.1 for Mac OS X, its award-winning Digital Asset Management solution. In addition to adding Mac OS X compatibility, Portfolio 6.1, which will ship at the end of January, includes new features that make it the easiest and most effective way for professionals to share, organize, retrieve and distribute the digital files. It will be a free upgrade to registered owners.
