- The Zipwise zip code database for Macintosh and Windows has been updated with the new 2003 zip code data. Zipwise 2003 ($100) provides the data to perform proximity searches using zip code latitudes and longtitudes. (ZipCodes FM and Weblet ZipCodes provide the complete zip code searching functionality to FileMaker Pro databases, and CDML- and Lasso-powered web sites.)
- metaobject has released verson 3.1 of its PDF compression tool for Mac OS X. Pdfcompress 3.1 can recompress images at higher compression ratios with a new safety that prevents JPEG re-compression cycles to avoid image quality degradation. It is a free upgrade to the $25 application. [812KB]
- Arboretum Systems will begin shipping Montage 1.0 later this month. The multimedia authoring tool supports video, images, audio, and text in a "single, infinitely expandable workspace with movable clips that can be freely and intuitively associated, edited and processed in place."
