    TechTV?

What about TechTV? Since they've axed Jim Louderbach, Apple should warm back up to them - especially the way the Leo Laporte gushes about his iBook.

    Anyone hear for sure?

better be more than a dld

Has everyone noticed all these people are getting hyped up about a new Digital Lifestyle Device... and I say... who cares?? I want a freakin new COMPUTER... you know... from Apple the COMPUTER company. It seems like lately they've forgotten that... If they can't develop a DLD without slowing down PowerMac develepment, then we're better off without some crappy new iPod or iPhone or iWhatever. Apple's pro computer lineup better be getting some updates... they are badly overdue.

Well, better be prepared to be disappointed then, since any signifant new CPU won't be available until 2H03. And any DLD development isn't "slowing down" Power Mac development. Apple's doing the best it can. It can't just magically create new processors...

    TechTV won't want it

It means TechTV has to give 1.5 hours of commercial-free time for a commercial that they aren't getting compensated for. Then you get into questions of balance and fairness with giving that time to other market leaders. I don't blame them for not airing it.

Actually they've done it before (last year's MWSF, for one). Its not 1.5 hours of commercial free time, because they'll just pause the Tivo, show their commercials, talk about what Steve talked about, and then start up the Tivo again. It actually works out well because you can get balanced reporting from the commentators at the breaks, and discuss each thing after it appears, as opposed to waiting until the end, where one or two things would drown out the rest For example, if they did MWNY 2002, they could've talked about what was announced/released at that expo as its going along, as opposed to after its over, like on the web or watching live, where everyone just b****** about what wasn't announced and that they're charging for .Mac. Hey, anyone remember what else was announced at MWNY last year?
