- iStopMotion is a preview release of the new Java-based stop motion animation application: "The 'Last Minute Christmas Release' will give early adopters a chance to play with the concept and provide feedback." It requires Mac OS X and QuickTime 6. Pricing has not been set. [form]
- Servoy R2 is a rapid application development (RAD) suite that offers an event-driven GUI, JDBC/ODBC driver support, and scripting features. It can easily connect to multiple data sources simultaneously and can combine data from multiple database servers into a single application and/or report. The WYSIWYG form design tools along with the JavaScript-based scripting engine allow non-programmers to create customized workgroup applications. It supports all major databases.
- Trolltech today announced the beta release of Qt Script for Applications (QSA), its new multiplatform scripting toolkit for Qt-based application developers. It lets developers and end-users extend and customize Qt applications through a powerful ECMA standard scripting environment. It is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2003.
- LightWorks 7.0 is an update to the rendering engine designed to be integrated into third-party applications. Designed to add rendering and lighting simulation capabilities to 3D applications and environments, version 7.0 features a new modular structure for improved integration flexibility and efficiency.
