    Seriously though, no tabs. Yaaawwwn.
Who is going to pay for a browser these days? Opera is not bad but I'll stick to Chimera.

    $30 too much

$30 is a lot to pay for a browser when there are so many other free alternatives.

    It HAS tabs!

Opera 6 has tabs. And you don't have to pay - there is a free version.

    i have to admit

it is pretty darn fast. renders nicely, too. i'll have to see how it handles security, javascript, etc., etc.

    Tabs are called 'pages'

I was just trying it out.
It is pretty good, fast rendering, full featured...
I'd give it an unqualified thumbs-up except it just crashed when I tried to drop a bookmark onto the Personal bar.
If crashes turn out to be rare, It's a definite contender. Menus are a little sluggish on my old CRT iMac 600.

    Well y'know..

50 cents is too steep when there are free alternatives.

I'm more interested in comparision of those 'free' alternatives to Opera and just know which one flat-out works best/fastest/less crash-prone/stable/compliant to standards w/o adding exotic features specific to one browser or platform...

    Hah!

"50 cents is too steep when there are free alternatives." ... not when everything else is c*** (comparatively).

Opera 6 for Windows is hands down the best browser out there. It's fast, has tabs, and the UI is a dream (gestures). If Opera 6 for Mac is 1/2 the browser it is in Windows it's still better than most.
