Apple.com moves up a slot

updated 04:59 pm EST, Tue January 2, 2001

Apple.com moved up to the No. 4 most-visited hardware site for the week ended Dec. 30, according to PC Data. It was in the No. 5 spot for the previous week. Compaq.com and Dell.com switched places, with Compaq.com in the No. 1 slot this week. No. 3 was once again HP.com.

    Who cares?

I am a very frequent visitor to MacNN and I find it the best Mac news site on the net, but...

Who honestly cares about these "most visited hardware site" rankings? It's got to be the most useless paragraph on the site, and it's updated EVERY single day. I can't imagine I'm the only one sick of seeing it. Even if it were the least bit valid a measure (which it isn't for oh so many reasons), it STILL wouldn't be interesting to anyone reading. Please lose it.

Otherwise, keep up the good work. ;)
