anyone care to speculate on when/if Apple will be including support for the new Nokia 6310i? It's Bluetooth compatible as well, and I'm looking pretty hard at getting one to keep my address book/calendar sync'ed up. Of course, having internet access anywhere you have cell phone coverage would be a nifty bonus too.
thanks for the info first poster!
You should be able to just get it to work by playing around with the modem script. Check google to see if one already has been created somewhere. The description from Apple should be generic except which script to choose. I got my t68i working with 10.1.5 using a script off the internet and just figuring things out. Worked well too...
I've been holding onto 10.1 because I don't want to pay $129 for 10.2 -- now Apple's telling me that I may experience data loss and I've got to pay $130 to get it fixed? What a bunch of a-holes.
Maybe you should be bitching to MS for allowing the situation in the first place, rather than apple, who apparently tried to add some fix for MS's problems.
I've never had to force quit Mac OS X mail ever and I use it every day on an iBook that is never turned off and rarely rebooted (just for software updates/installs). Seems to me you should expect the possibility of data loss if you are "Force quitting" ANY application.
I agree with testudo, Apple is patching the OS to protect users from problems in Microsoft's unstable app. I made the switch from Entourage to Apple Mail when I switched to Mac OS X and have NEVER looked back. Apple Mail with Address Book, iCal and iSync are awesome under Mac OS X 10.2! My Palm m505 and iPod sync perfectly and now I can't wait to get my hands on a Sony Ericsson T68i and BlueTooth adapter so I can sync my phone and surf the net on the commuter train to/from work!

Apple has a fix for an acknowledged data loss problem in their operating system and they're charging me $130 it -- that's not cool from any company, MS or Apple.
They're charging $129 for 10.2. If you have X, you should upgrade to 10.2 anyway, not for Apple's fix for Microsoft's poor coding, but for increased speed, stability, and the slew of other improvements. Then, you could be using Mail.app and iCal instead of MS software.
I'm looking for a digital voice recorder that has a bluetooth connection. I want to record on the go and transfer to my computer. Then, I want ViaVoice to translate to text. Does anyone know of a product that has those capicities?

cable select
Cable select is actually a feature of the cable and the drives; the host computer doesn't really know anything about it. Thus the rejoinder about not using third-party cables is a bit misleading - for an earlier Mac, one could get the feature by switching to a third-party cable (they're cheap).
This is actually a pretty low-tech feature; one wire in the cable is physically disconnected from the second drive connector (often there's a hole punched in the ribbon just above the middle drive), which tells each drive where it is (when the drive is jumpered for "CS"). Thus you could also modify an older Apple cable for it through some careful snippin'. ;)
