Risk II Network Limitations Acknowledged

updated 12:31 pm EST, Tue January 2, 2001

Westlake Interactive's Mark Krenek notes in response to complaints of issues with network play using Risk II for the Mac that the same problems existed with the PC version and that effort was made to fix them before release.

I talked to the PC programmer early in development regading these issues and he was aware of them but didn't offer much hope that there will be any changes. They basically ran out of development time. I looked into trying to fix these on the Mac side, but gave up because it was quite a challenge.

    This game sucks...

I downloaded this game from Hotline to test it before buying it after I could not find it at Frys. Glad I did not rush out to buy it. Too much interface that gets in the way of gameplay. I played the old mac version of Risk to death. I could get through a game in 10 minutes. Very simple and easy to play. I was hoping AI would be better in this version. Instead, they added a bunch of silly graphics and eye candy and mucked up the game play.
