MacNN reader Issac Dickinson notes the new low-end 700MHz iBook has a than the other models and is apparently made from different material: "It seems like the low-end iBook hase been changed to an 'all-White' rather than the "metal on White" coloring."

...on Nov 6th and it was drop shipped from Taiwan.
They are all white and quite nice for $999. Actually, it has a very slick look to it. The keyboard is much nicer than the original tangerine iBook's keyboard.

too....might upgrade just for QE support.
I think that you really won't notice a gain if you are going from and Old (last rendition) iBook to one of these new ones even if they do suport QE, QE is really for G4s and better video cards, and even then I barely noticed it on my G4 from 10.1 to 10.2
QE will be better with the last iBook, they have 32 MB of VRAM, it helps a lot !
But I agree, a G4 is really needed for good performance under X.

actually, the only new ibook sporting the all-white look is the low end model and it only has a 16mb vid card.
since when is opaque a color?
