every time apple releases updates, there's folks posting potentially aggrivating conflicts with unsanity haxies.. makes me hesitant to install them.. is this base-less?

    Re: app conflicts

I don't see anything here that looks like a fix for 10.2.2. They seem to be just improvements (although I couldn't get to any page but the AE page).

My point of view on these things is to question whether any potential instability (which might be just that, potential, and not existent) and hassles is worth the feature. For people complaining about missing the apple menu or windowshade, then these programs are definietly worth it. If you don't miss them, then don't bother.

I will say that on the programs from them that I use (FruitMenu, Xounds, WindowShadeX):
    - I've had no troubles that I recall related to these programs
    - I've noticed no slowdowns from these programs on my computer)
    - They're customizable to turn them off on an application basis if some program has trouble with them (or you don't want them to function in some program)
    - Unsanity has been quick to respond to problems and release updates (well, I'm guessing here, since I don't recall problems, but other's might have had them)

In fact, even though people claim Apple should've implemented them by default, these programs are more feature-ladened then the associated feature ever was in OS 9 or whatever Apple would've given you.

    I use them

I use Windowshade, Fruitmenu and Labels from them with no problems at all.

This stuff should have been included in Mac X, but at least they can be added thanks to this developer.

    Metallifizer

i love Metallifizer a lot for one reason, there is too much white in osX. this solve the problem perfectly. now that we can tell what app to use it, you add apps that are buggy with it and it's perfect!

i just can't for the carbon support. the finder will be sweeeet with that! :)

    Re: app conflicts

All of the haxies from Unsanity have the option to install for specific user, or global for all users. If you are worried about the results of the programs, add a new user and test them under that account.

    Unsanity Haxies Rock!

I absolutely love Unsanity and their Haxies. They bring attention to detail in many areas that Apple does not. Have never had any problems with their applications. Make sure to check out CeePeeYou if you have a PowerMate from Griffin Technology.
