NEC introduces 50-inch plasma display

NEC Technologies has introduced its PlasmaSync 50MP1, a 50-inch XGA plasma display. Features include 1,365-by-768 resolution, NEC's Capsulate Color Filter technology for realistic color reproduction, AccuBlend scan conversion technology for sharp display of high-resolution images, a motion-compensated 3D scan converter and a 2/3 pull-down converter and a 3X digital zoom. Available now, the display is $19,000.

    Resolution

    ummm isn't 1365x168 a little weak for a 50" monitor, why would I get that for $19000 when I can get the 22" studio display with higher resolution for $4000

    It's not about resolutio

    This is not a monitor designed to sit on your desk and have only one person look at. It's a presentation monitor designed for a whole room of people to view.
