Gefen has released ($70), a new device that simplifies the installation process for those 'extending' a digital or plasma display or projector by detecting and then storing the computer’s digital video information (EDID). The DVI Detective weighs two pounds and plugs directly into the computer’s ADC or DVI port, located inconspicuously between the display cable and the computer.
