The printers feature print speeds of up to 30 ppm, 1200x1200 dpi resolution, 32MB of memory, 600 sheets of input paper capacity and 500 sheets of output paper capacity. Both also include CompactFlash storage capability and N-Up, poster, watermark print modes, and both parallel and USB connectivity. The HL-7050 and HL-7050N have estimated street prices of $1000 and $1,100, respectively.
The printers offer an array of expansion options including a 10/100 BaseT Ethernet print server (standard on the HL-7050N), a hard disk drive for enhanced job spooling and job storage, and a duplex unit (for two-sided printing). In addition, users can increase the input paper capacity up to 2,100 sheets by adding up to three, 500-sheet lower paper trays. The HL-7050 Series printers also feature an expandable output capacity up to 1,900 sheets via a 10-bin mailbox/sorter. Other accessories include an IrDA interface for wireless printing, 136 PostScript 3 font upgrade package, and a bar code upgrade kit.
