Apple is planning on selling its iPod digital music player at Target stores nationwide, according to c|net. "...several Target stores confirmed that they had the devices--both the Mac and the Windows varieties--on hand." In September, Apple announced a similar plan with electronics retailer Best Buy.

    Price reductions..??

Target is a discounter, so does this mean they will discount the iPod's to compete with other similar products, one could only hope.

    Please cut the prices!

Here's hoping Apple gets aggressive with iPod pricing for the holiday season. I will always be willing to pay a premium for Apple quality/elegance, but not 2x the price. My boss just bought an Archos Jukebox (20G) for $229 after rebate. I couldn't very well say "You should have bought an iPod for $499." Nor can I bring myself to spend $499 on an iPod when the competitors are $229. Don't get me wrong, I'm not rushing out to buy an Archos, but I won't be buying an iPod at current prices either.

Slash the prices, Apple, and show these poor lost Windows souls the beauty of your products by pricing them within reach!

    Too bad...

Too bad the Archos has a horrible interface. Granted, it's quite usable, but in comparison, I'm willing to wait a bit. I don't buy stuff because it's cheap - I buy it because it's usable. It's precisely why I have a Mac on my desk. I don't have a lot of money to throw around, but I'm not going to settle for cheap c***.

    Minnesota loves Macs!

Both Best Buy and Target are based in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN). In fact, a new Best Buy corporate HQ is being built on I-494 between the Mall of America and Southdale (Edina) Apple Stores.

    Bring on MacWorld Expo Midwest!
