In response to news yesterday that MYOB is delaying the release of AccountEdge 3, several readers have confirmed receiving their orders: "I have already received my AccountEdge 3 package. I received this as an upgrade purchase. No box was included. I haven't heard anything about a delay in shipping, but perhaps they are shipping upgrades first, or maybe the box isn't ready?"

    upgrade

I just paid $130 to upgrade to Accountedge 2 in August of this year. I haven't even used the upgrade yet. Now they want me to pay $119 to upgrade to version 3! That's $249 within 2 months to stay current. I don't mind paying for am occasional upgrade, but since I purchased directly from them, they could have let me know to wait a couple of months for an impending upgrade. The next time I DO upgrade, it will NOT be with MYOB!

    what the h***?

what the f***? these guys are running a fast one here.
first they say not to upgrade to 10.2, or not to upgrade to account edge 2, or do upgrade I don't know anymore. Is it compatible with 10.2, why should we all upgrade twice a year (or more if they deem it so).

while we're on the subject, did anyone notice that one of their upgrade 'points' is that the program looks good? man are they stretching it.

BUT despite all of this, I will remain their customer because I can never forgive intuit for just abondoning my biz software like they did. f*** intuit in the a** I say.

    AccountEdge 3??

Kinda sucks.. especially when we Canucks have been totally screwed by MYOB when they sold out Canada to Intuit.

    Annual support agreement

The $189 annual support agreement is the way to go with MYOB ($299 with payroll). It includes telephone support and software upgrades.

I've always found their support to be good and well worth the money.

    about upgrading MYOB

Hi, I'm the person that originally submitted the delayed shipping news to MacNN. I wrote to their president this morning asking what the deal is, and haven't yet heard back.

To the "what the h***" guy here who's asking about the upgrades, yes Account Edge v.2 is completely compatible with 10.2. It's what I use. And they only do upgrades once a year, usually in the fall. If I remember correctly, their OS X upgrade was free.

Nevertheless, my beef is with this shipping stuff and that they don't put any shipping date info on the ordering pages.

I'm an enthusiastic user of this software otherwise and use it to run a few client businesses. I'm a former Quickbooks user and even with some customer service problems, I'll take it over Quickbooks anyday.
