Microsoft has posted Outlook Express 5.0.6, an update to its free email client/news reader for Mac OS 9. Version 5.06 includes support for MSN Web mail accounts and resolves all security vulnerabilities, including those that might have caused Outlook Express to stop responding or caused a memory problem that compromised the security of the computer as well as a security vulnerability that can enable an attacker who had a valid security certificate to issue an invalid subordinate certificate that would appear to be valid.

I love how the MacBU still cares about its older apps. Microsoft bites but I still love the MacBU. With the release of iCal and iSync I have realized that they really make incredible software (sorry Apple, but Entourage kicks the new iApps but props to Apple for making them free).

seriously, is anyone worth their salt tooting around in that decrepit old OS? I couldn't care less if they updates word 98.

    Those of us with jobs...

Maybe if some of you guys had jobs that required a tried and true broadly supported OS you would understand why OS9 is still important. People buy PCs because so many apps are made for them. People use OS9 because so many apps... get the picture?

    those with jobs?

those with jobs, you're kidding. you must be pretty arrogant.

man, wow. that has to be the most short-sighted statement, ever made on this thread. i have a job, and we are X exclusive. it has to be that way for stability reasons...get the picture?

we do a lot of print graphics to large scale printers and our productivity has increased three fold since we made the switch back in may...get the picture?

perhaps you should get with the current technology times, I doubt there are many apps (save a few audio ones that WILL be out soon) that are worth their salt for you to still be in 9...get the picture?

so maybe you shoul think before you write something assinine like get the picture.

be gone you troll. go back to your system 7 rock.

I don't think it's a short-sighted statement. If you use languages other than English just like I do. My language isn't fully supported in OS X, specifically in graphic programs, and I'm doubtful if it would be in the near future.

I'm sorry to be that arrogant, but I sitll need to earn money and thus to buy my food.
