Native Instruments today released Pro-53, an update to its $200 virtual analog synth that brings newly redesigned oscillators, a high-Pass filter mode, an invertible filter envelope, a key repeat function, an integrated MIDI controller editor, compatibility with the standard MIDI Sysex and VST Microtuning formats, better handling of Prophet-5 Sysex import, and 64 new sounds.

    Emagic drops VST?

Well, the good news (for me, anyhow) is that Logic runs on OSX, the not-so-good news (possibly) is that they are dropping VST support, and using OSX native audio units. Will others, like those mentioned above, (at least when they get their act together!) follow suit? Steinberg seem to be sticking with VST (Invented there!) so yet another Standard to adhere to?
If, as Emagic claim Audio Units will give very low latency times, maybe they are doing the right thing.

Oh yes, try comparing the ES-2 (Emagic) synth to the N.I. PRO52, sometime. I think I will stick with the ES-2.
