    You Go Dell

    http://theregister.co.uk/content/7/27372.html

Dell Computer Corp RAISED its revenue outlook for the third quarter yesterday, but the Texas giant's good fortune likely means more PAIN for its rivals.

On the eve of its analysts' day, the Austin-based direct seller said it expected revenues for the quarter ending November 1 to be $9.1bn, up 22% on the year, with earnings per share of $0.21. In August, the company predicted sales of $8.9bn, with earnings per share of $0.20 to $0.21. Those targets themselves had been ahead of analysts' earlier predictions. Dell yesterday said the third quarter would show a sequential improvement in operating margins.

    Re: What's going on?

Apple sucks! This update doesn't even begin to fix the iPod: can't use it as a TV remote!, can't use it as a jack for my car!, doesn't have the anti-bacterial action I was promised! A total failure. Steve Jobs is g**. I'm buying a Dell.

    It still works!!!

I hope I haven't got a 100db ipod now! I upgraded because I didn't think the battery indicator was telling the truth - whether thats fixed now, I can't say. Anyone got any more details on this upgrade?

    100 / 104db??

I'm a bit confused about this - I thought db's are relative: so a low level source amplified by 104db is still quieter than a louder source ampified by 100??? I always thought my iPod was relatively weak in terms of output compared to my CD walkman. What are those French on about???
