IDG today announced that Apple CEO Steve Jobs will deliver the opening keynote address for Macworld Expo/San Francisco 2003 on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at 9:00 am PT. San Francisco's largest annual technology event takes place January 6-10, 2003 at The Moscone Center in San Francisco. (We recently noted that IDG opened online registration.)

    Maybe...

Maybe Steve will announce that all iPods sold in Europe will include audio book versions of Mein Kampf and the Quran: Kill the Infidels edition? After all these are two of the most popular books in Europe these days.

Apple wouldn't want to alienate Muslim-overrum anti-semetic Euros. A unit sold is a unit sold!

    Shocked!

I'm shocked! Steve's at the keynote! You know what this means! All new hardware (G5! Power64 from IBMs! 32xAGP with video cards at 600fpm in Quake III! 600GB hard drives Standard! Thought control for data entry. iWalk PDAs/cell phones! Prostitutes with every .Mac subscription!

Either that or it'll be your standard MacWorld keynote, lots of speculation about all that'll be announced, and he'll announce some new software updates, and maybe an update to the iMac or something. All followed by the usual chorus of "Macs suck! That's all! How come no new real hardware! We want G5s! I'm getting a PC! How come the new PowerBooks were announced in December, they should've been announced here!"

Remember, folks, Apple has been moving away from announcing pro hardware upgrades (or any hardware upgrades) at MacWorlds, to better let them get the updates out when they're ready (like last december with the new powerbooks or promotion or whatever it was) rather then wait for January/July to announce their hardware.

    they have the right

Apple has the right not to bow down to IDG needs. I mean most people know new computers usually come around at the keynote and they should not have to sweat over that.

    Mac World

Gosh, I am happy to see the Mac Community finally waking up!

MacWorld has been a complete disaster and disappointment for many years. Apple continues to fail, falter and give us no real innovation.

Instead of being a computer company, they are trying to be a service company and are getting so far off track from what they should be doing.

Personally, I will wait to see if there is any innovation via the MacNN. If there is, maybe I will watch the keynote after the fact, but I have already learned the hard lesson that Apple is continuing on a path that leads to total dissappointment.

Which to me is very depressing.

    no hardware

no hardware upgrades are needed. Everyone says they are fast, and since megahertz is a myth, creating a 1.5Ghz CPU would be pointless, because after all, its just an increase in mhz.

    re: maybe

Are the the same a****** who was going on about the muslim overrun anti semetic europe yesterday?

So you can say that europe is 'overrun with muslims' but that theyre anti semetic? WHAT?! So we should hate muslims but love jews? For you, its ok to hate races as long as theyre not yours or other races and religions you approve of? Go s**** yourself you piece of junk.

Anyone who calls someone or somewhere racist then says theyre overrun with whatever, deserves a good kicking in the head.

    I think

...I heard the same guy say that parts of the US are overrun with Muslims and should be cordoned off for the security of the nation. But the Senate, not caring about our nation's security, is against this action.
