Apple today announced that Larry Ellison, chairman and chief executive officer of Oracle Corporation, is resigning from Apple’s Board of Directors: "I will continue to offer my advice to Steve and the executive management team at Apple, but my schedule does not currently allow me to attend enough of the formal board meetings to warrant a role as a director."

don't let the door hit y

Apple could do with a little less influence from that greedy b****** anyhow. Oracle has been all about extorting extra money from existing clients (rather than trying to win new clients with good products) lately.

Honorable Members of the Apple Board of Directors:

I heard you have an opening on the Board. I would like you to know that I'm available.

    Larry's busy

He has a company to run (which has been squeezed lately), and his spare time will be totaly sucked up for the next six months by his America's Cup Campaign in Aukland (first round of races just about to get under way).

Personally I would prefer to have board members who have the time to devote to making sure Apple is run right, and not rubber stamp board members, like those at Enron, Worldcom, etc.

Great, now Apple's Board of Directors are leaving. Forget this c***, I'm getting a PC!!! No one ever leaves MS's Board.

Actually, MS has had 3 (out of 8) board members leave in the past two years.

We need 2 more to leave if Apple is to keep up!!

    One less cook

Having too many people in control with too many different opinions is exactly what makes for watered down business decisions. Apple should be happy there is one less cook in the kitchen. Whatever for this guy saying he will "continue to offer my advice to Steve"; when he chose to leave, he chose to give up his rights of advisement.
