    Farewell

Congratulations Cheryl....now.....who the h*** is Apex? You left Apple just to be a CEO for a fly-by-night. Well...good luck.

    Not again!

Sheesh! They need a revolving door on the Apple offices for Cheryl. She's had more comebacks than the BeeGees (and has been about as worthwhile! - no insult intended to BeeGees fans)

    That's it!

Geesh! Apple can't even keep someone from leaving their company. Sure, I'm not in school, or even involved in education in any way. But if Apple can't keep their heads of the education divisions in line, then there goes schools, and then there goes the rest of the markets! This wouldn't have happened if Apple could get a computer out the door that had real DDR or a processor that was faster than a Chevy Chevette containing four people driving up a hill with a 2% upslope!!! Forget this c***, I'm buying a PC! No one ever leaves Microsoft!! (OK, that may have more to do with Bill Gate's pact with the devil, but that's not the point!).

    Ouch...

Ms. Vedoe has only been back for a while. This is bad.

    Doesn't matter...

...what figurehead is holding office at any of the departments, Apple appears to be run by the iron hand of Jobs. Nothing will change until Jobs realizes that Apple will continue to bleed what little share of of the Academic market it holds until he prices iMacs/eMacs so low it hurts and offers significantly better no-cost support to school administrators - especially the Windows-loving people that plague most systems now.

    Give me a break

I guess it never occurred to any of you that this departure may be the result of one thing and one thing only: MONEY! Maybe being President of Apex is more lucrative than being a VP at Apple. Go buy your PC's you tools.

    New Hardware!

After being rumored on Mac sites for months, this announcement is likely to stir controversy amongst Mac zealots. What was a suprise was this update was not announced at a media-friendly MacWorld show, as Steve Jobs is known to make hardware changes in front of a mass throng of onlookers.

    Apple lost educaction...

Apple has lost the education market. Schools want decently priced computers ad Apple doesn't offer that.

Apple has lost the education market so there is no need for a VP in charge of this market anymore. In fact, the way Apple acts, it soon won't need anyone on the board at all... just Steve.

    it's good ...

At last year's EDUCAUSE (http://www.educause.edu), one of the most significant organizations involved in technology and higher education, Ms. Vedoe did one of the most pitiful presentations ever. She completely pushed the whole digital hub concept which is not relevant to public or teaching computer laboratories in higher education settings, save for the learning that can take place while using Apple technologies, see: http://www.apple.com/education/hed/admin/stanford/index2.html and http://www.apple.com/education/hed/macsinaction/northwestern/. She heralded Office X as a great thing not understanding that users / IT administrators expect such software to be available anyway--it wasn't Apple's doing but Microsoft's. I think she completely misunderstood higher education and maybe that's why she was moved in Apple to push Powerschool. Hopefully she was more successful in those endeavors.
