Hybrid CD-R writing under 10.2: Update
updated 06:00 pm EDT, Sun August 25, 2002
Despite many reports that Apple had cut Hybrid ISO-9660 support from Mac OS X 10.2 (including a thread in the Apple Support area), further testing indicates that although the "Hybrid" menu option has been removed, Mac OS X 10.2 now burns ISO-9660 CDs by default. Apple has removed to the option to burn HFS-only CDs (non-cross-platform CDs), and simply offers 3 options when inserting a blank CD-RW: iTunes, Disk Copy or Finder burn without offering options for the CD-format. Readers report that burned CDs work with Windows and in other cross-platform environments. [updated]

Not so sure...
When the newly created blank CD-R is mounted on the desktop, its type via "Show Info" shows as "Mac OS Extended" just like the wording on the initial pop-up. If these are truly hybrid CDs now, shouldn't that be reflected instead of the above? Something is whacky, as some folks have reported issues with opening these CDs under Windows, claiming that folders do not open and time/date stamps are screwy...
Toast 5.1.2 gives "error 50" when trying to mount images and 5.1.4 quits right after launch for me. I have ruled out WindowShade as the culprit. :(
