Photo Control today announced its new BookEndz Docking Station for the PowerBook G4 DVI model is now shipping. The $245 docking station allows users to convert from a portable system to a complete desktop system (or back) in seconds, allowing for all of the peripheral devices normally connected -- printer, external monitor, Ethernet, FireWire, USB, etc. -- to be plugged into the back of the dock, and remain plugged in, independent of the portable.

reliability & function
I hope they improved the reliability. We have a 5 to 10 percent failure rate with the ports (ethernet, USB and FireWire). I am not sure if it is due to the fact the user is required to provide the alighnment or if the ports themselves are flakey. It would be nice if they added a mechanism that kept everything lined up and pulled the notebook in, like the old Duo docks.
