    Cool!

Unlike the desktops, Apple's iMac's and iBook's continue to be a great value.

    THIS IS GREAT NEWS!

Whoa...is Steve finally listening and making his systems more affordable? Is marketshare finally a priority? Nice job Steve, just wish it had happened sooner.

More affordable in the consumer machines, yes, and about time, shave another couple hundred off the systems and they would be in direct competition with windows.

Shame we cant say the same for the 'pro' models which are actually going up in price.

    hey, the low-end...

...tower released today is one HECK of a deal, considering the fact that, in the span of 24 hours, you now get TWO processors for the price you would have piad for one yesterday. sure ,t eh bus is 133, and the video is still geforce 4mx, but you can change the video card later, or BTO.

oh, to stay on topic, the eMac is tempting, but next to a dual 1.25 ghz running os x and multi-threaded apps, well, it's looking a wee bit puny. 'course, then again, i'm still using a 450 mhz sawtooth at work, so who am i to talk. ;-)

    edu pricing remains weird

iMac pricing is still at the old levels, but the messages ("Discounted from retail price of $____" or whatever) have been corrected. So now it looks like there is only a $50 discount on ALL iMac models. That can't be right... :

The clear difference between iMacs and eMacs is that between the LCD and the CRT displays...but, as stated once on apple's site, CRT displays should be dead 4 good...no one likes 2 pay more just for the display, when, in fact, what we have is the same computer, running the same apps, the same os and so on...being a company that has always produced top quality stuff, they should let the old-fashioned, odd CRTs for the nasty Intel and Windows systems...and make LCD a 100% standard for their part...why couldn't eMacs ship with a LCD, also...and, let's say, with a little "discount" in hardware performance and, most of all, price ?
