Omni to continue 'Productivity Bundle' sale

updated 07:10 pm EDT, Fri August 2, 2002

The Omni Group today announced that it would continue to sell its 'Productivity Bundle,' as a result of popular customer demand. The software bundle, which includes Omni's most popular Mac OS X applications, was first announced as a post-Macworld Expo deal and retails for $110 -- a $25 savings. The latest versions of OmniWeb, OmniGraffle, OmniOutliner and OmniDiskSweeper are included.

    LOL

Omniweb is good, but it isn't good enough to warrant paying for it yet. Maybe when v5 comes, but for now it's just another browser that happens to be a BIT better than IE.

    Tabs

Throw in tabbed browsing (as in Mozilla) and you've got a deal.

    encourage development

I find myself using OmniWeb more often than IE. And while it's not perfect (specially in its handling of pages with many tables), I chose to pay and encourage the development of a competitor to IE.

I'm also keeping an eye on Chimera. It's slowly starting to become a great browser.

    newsflash

FakeNews© - In an attempt to emulate Apple, OmniGroup announced today a special bundle of productivity applications for $110. At the same time they have eliminated sales of individual components. A spokesman for the company said that "we believe this provides a great value for the consumer and don't care if they don't want all of the applications and, hey, if Apple can do it with .mac we thought, it must be a good way to do things".

I totally agree with you, I bought Omniweb for the same reason.
