Adobe today issued an intra-quarter business update for its third-quarter of fiscal 2002. The company lowered its third-quarter revenue target range to $270-290 million from the previously-targeted range of $300-320 million. Additionally, third quarter earnings per share are now targeted at $0.18 to $0.23, down from the original target of $0.24 to $0.27. The software giant cited lower-than-expected revenue in the month of July as the reason for the anticipated shortfall.

    ooh

you mean they aren't going to blame slow adoption of OS X? Amazing.

How about blaming slow adoption of XP?

    Oh great.

Oh my. Perhaps they should raise prices to something a little more (un)affordable?

    Adobe doesn't get it

Yeah, Adobe doesn't seem to get it...maybe that's why the stock price is down. They really dragged their feet putting out Photoshop for OS X, and they refuse to show up for MWNY. Ignore your Mac customers and they will ignore you...funny how that works, eh? Here's hoping they board the clue train at Gate 1 someday.

    xp

adoption of XP wouldn't matter, you could run the same program under '95, '98, ME, Windows 2000 in addition to XP.

Adobe probably hasn't sold as much software because of the pathetic numbers of apple machines being sold. If it's not Apples inability to supply machines fast enough (Imac), then its their old technology for premium prices. . . and Don't even get me started on the ADC producing hum when the system is shut down and apple calling that normal. Is that quality or what?

    Symptom

When the Apple ADC to DVI adapter is plugged into an AC outlet and the monitor is in sleep mode or off, you may hear a low-level, high-pitch noise coming from the adapter.

    Solution
It is normal for you to hear the high-pitch noise when the monitor is in sleep mode or shut down.

Well, I don't know what a DVI adapter has to do with Adobe's bottom line being so bad, but I guess if I were an Adobe boss who didn't want to take responsibility for my own company's shortcomings, I might try to blame them on Apple. Whatever.
