Tech: InDesign training, ILM and Dell, more

Morning Tech news: Adobe today announced that CompUSA has made its InDesign 2.0 software available at nearly 220 CompUSA stores nationwide, CompUSA will also offer free InDesign training throughout its network of training centers; Industrial Light and Magic has switched from using SGI Unix workstations to Intel-based Dell systems running Linux for the majority of its animation and special effects work (ILM switched to Macs for some tasks this year); in a bid to curb any potential media player monopolization by Microsoft, RealNetworks is expected to announce a new version of its software that supports formats from Microsoft's Windows Media Player [free registration req'd].

Ouch, I thought this was the area Apple wanted to strengthen. Maybe if Apple came out with faster computers with cutting edge components, they would stop losing sales to Dell in it's "strong hold" areas.
