4D intros WebSTAR 5.2 with new mail server

4D today announced 4D WebSTAR v5.2, an update to its Internet server suite and 4D Mail, a new stand-alone mail server for OS X as well as a new 4D Business Kit for rapid store front development under OS X.
4D WebSTAR 5.2, due in September, adds a new mail server designed for performance and scalability with new security features, including anti-SPAM and anti-virus support.
4D Mail is a new scalable, high-performance Mail server on Mac OS X, with anti-SPAM features, support for anti-virus, WebMail and more. It will ship in September for $150 for a 10-mailbox license, $250 for 100-mailbox (with additional 100-mailbox expansion licenses available for $150), or an unlimited license available at $1500. It offers an "easy-to-administer" SMTP/POP/IMAP mail server with secure remote administration, advanced relay blocking, and allow/deny, plus WebMail, anti-SPAM and anti-virus features. 4D Mail is scheduled to ship in September.
The company is offering an unlimited-mailbox license option is available for all owners of 4D WebSTAR V who are registered by August 3 and an unlimited-mailbox license option to owners of 4D WebSTAR 4.x who upgrade to 4D WebSTAR V and are registered by October 31.
The new 4D Business Kit offers eCommerce functionality on Mac OS X including catalog development, shopping cart technology, multi-currency payment systems, tax calculations, shipping, customer management and order tracking as well as "out-of-the-box" payment transaction support, including modules for Authorize.net, Verisign and PayPal (and tools for creating other custom payment systems). The $500 Kit a license for two stores, while a five-store expansion is also available for $500.
