Abbott Systems is now shipping CanOpener 5.0, an OS X native version of the file utility that provides "emergency access to any file. It lets you recover text from damaged files, foreign files, virus infected files.. just about any file. And special text filters let you extract specific types of information." It is $65, while upgrades are $30 and site licenses are $500.
