ACARD Technology began shipping its AEC-6880M PCI Ultra ATA-133 IDE RAID adapter today for the Macintosh. One highlight of the new device is full support for RAID 1 ‘Mirroring mode’ under Mac OS 9. The AEC-6880M RAID 1 automatically backs-up data -- without installing any proprietary software – while taking advantage of a 133MB/sec bus. The AEC-6880M offers two parallel hard disks for added performance, with publishing and video-editing users in mind. ACARD will exhibit at this month’s Macworld Expo, booth #1926.
