Afternoon Tech News: A landmark acquisition of PayPal by auction giant EBay for more than $1.3 billion will align the company to create a "more compelling trading platform," EBay executives said today; a German programmer has made the first steps toward running the Linux operating system legally on Microsoft's Xbox (Linux on Xbox challenge noted last week).

    How very disappointing... I feel sick.

    And to think that I believed PayPal had a bigger vision than that. I guess what it all comes down to is greed... and not some grand idea to change the way transactions are done online.

    Oh well.
