Riverdeep today announced the release of StarFlyers Royal Jewel Rescue and StarFlyers Alien Space Chase, two new CD-ROM adventures designed to "inspire a child's imagination and provide fun, wholesome entertainment." StarFlyers software adventures, designed for children agest 5-8, take place in a fantasy space world that is filled with engaging, interactive puzzles and games. Royal Jewel Rescue and Alien Space Chase, the first two StarFlyers CD-ROM adventures, are available for $20 each.

Riverdeep in September 2001 acquired The Learning Company educational assets, including research and development on the new StarFlyers brand, which will be marketed under The Learning Company brand.

The new StarFlyers adventure CD-ROMs offer children a unique combination of engaging puzzles and games integrated into playful storylines with imaginative characters and settings that challenges kids to think, play, and create. The story line includees real-world characters who change into inventive superheroes with special powers and offers dozens of paths, through multiple, intergalactic environments, which encourage open-ended exploration.
