Wolfram Research's Mathematica v4.2 brings new features and connectivity to the powerful calculation utility for Mac OS X. With new XML capabilities users can import, manipulate, and export information -- including Mathematica expressions and notebooks -- in XML. Key changes in version 4.2 include: program optimization, a Java Runtime Engine, a slideshow environment for presentations and statistics enhancements. Mathematica is priced at $1800 for commercial use and $900 for academic purposes.
