Mediafour today announced the release of its XPlay software, offering Windows users the ability to use the iPod with Windows PCs. XPlay is based on Mediafour's MacDrive technology, offering access as both a portable music player and as a standard hard drive. Users can create and organize playlists, change equalization settings, trim song start and stop times, and change other song information(song title, artist and album) as well as optionally automatically synchronize the contents of the iPod with a PC user's music collection. The $30 software is available immediately online and will be in stores in July.
