CMS today announced a new FireWire version of its ABSplus system, its all-in-one automatic backup solution that offers complete disaster recovery and a bootable, removable hard drive in an enhanced rugged design, which can withstand a non-operating shock up to 1400Gs. The new bootable notebook ABSplus, with an interface choice of PCMCIA, FireWire or USB 2.0, is available in capacities of 20GB, 30GB, 40GB and 60GB solutions with pricing starting at $300 (with a 3-year warranty). Higher capacity Desktop ABSplus solutions with an interface choice of FireWire or USB 2.0 are available in capacities of 40GB, 60GB, 80GB, 120GB and 160GB (FireWire version only). Compatibility is listed as Windows-only, though other versions of the drive are Mac-compatible; the company recently solicited beta testers for OS X compatibility with its products.

ABSplus for Desktops is designed for high capacity use, often with the "advanced settings" for multiple machines. ABSplus for Desktops is compatible with Mac OS 8.6, 9.X and Mac OS X on iMacs, iBooks, PowerBooks and Power Macs,

as posted on the link MacNN provides for the Desktop ABSplus system (that page, btw, has a "Macworld Best Of Show" logo on it)?
