Newer today introduced the NuPowr G4 Pismo upgrade, a G4-based upgrade for the PowerBook G3 "FireWire" (aka "Pismo"). The G4 Pismo upgrade, which is available immediately for $300, allows owners of PowerBook G3 400MHz and 500MHz systems to upgrade to a G4/500MHz processor. Customers will be required to mail-in their laptops to NewerTech's facility in Wichita, Kansas and the compan is "committed to completing the install and testing, and return the systems within two weeks of their receipt and will also cover freight by FedEx 2nd Day for the customers to send in their components and for the return of their systems." (PowerLogix also announced a BlueChip Pismo G4 500 processor upgrade earlier today.)

Yes the 500 is a bit antiquated and no I can't afford to give away my Pismo for two weeks...but still new life for an old warrior!
