Apple has posted CPU Plugin for Gigabit Power Mac G4s 2.7, which "updates the Apple CPU Plugin extension and provides more reliable performance from your Power Mac G4." The software was originally made available on Friday via the Software Update control panel.

Note that this is for the Dual Processor models ONLY....
It showed up in the software updater on my SINGLE prossesor G4. I allready had the 2.4 installed.
It will not install on my single processor G4. Of course, no mention about that on Apple's web site. So quickly they forget ...
It installed on my G4/400. It's single-processor, but it's Gigabit Ethernet, which has the same ROM as the MP machines.
I have yet to notice any difference. Of course, if the point is stability, that's a good thing.
This update fixes an annoying habit of Dual G4's to stop responding to the keypress event or the click event. It only happens when the dual G4's are combined with the Apple Pro Mouse. If you do not have 2 processors or the Pro Mouse then don't worry about it. If you do then I strongly recommend updating as soon as possible. My machine would crash 3 or 4 times a day until I installed this and now it has not crashed in a day and a half.
