MacNN reader Varen Swaab has alerted us to a problem with Mac OS X 10.1.5 and Dreamweaver MX. "I have discovered (through my own experience and a discussion with MM Tech Support) a problem which prevents Dreamweaver MX users from being able to use their site file, rendering the program virtually useless. The message: If you use Dreamweaver MX DO NOT upgrade to 10.1.5."

    Yikes!

I've ALREADY upgraded to OSX v10.1.5, and am awaiting my Macromedia MX Studio product! I sure hope they (Macromedia) releases a fix SOON.

    How frustrating...

    No problems here

There may be some other problem with the user's setup. I've upgraded to 10.1.5, and am running the final version of Dreamweaver MX. No problems here with accessing my sites and their content.

    Ditto.. No problems

Dreamweaver MX works fine for me under 10.1.5 as well. It would seem to be a problem only with the one user's system, or only with certain configurations.

    could be simple

When we upgraded to Adobe GO live 5 the program would crash everytime I launched it. After pissing with it for a while I figured out it was a conflict with the Menu Font feature of Suitcase, turned that off and it worked fine. Answer UPgrades don't aways work with all your old c***.

    Over reaction?

No problems here. Why would one user's problems prompt MacNN to post such an sweeping headline?

    No problems here

I updated to 10.1.5 and published updates for two sites today with no problems. I'm still using the trial version, but I'm waiting for the final version to arrive any day now.

    10.1.5 is amazing

and this after I had nonspecific problems with 10.1.3 which were mostly eradicated with 10.1.4. 10.1.5 just seems snappier and feels really, really stable. I say "feels" because I haven't used it long enough to experience a crash. I haven't experienced a kernal panic since OSX beta and aside from once every couple of week "application unexpectedly quit" (always a commercial application from a major label like Adobe or Microsoft) there's absolutely no goofiness with OS X.

I can barely remember my experiences troubleshooting extensions and setting memory for individual applications within MacOS 9.
