Fourth World today released a public beta version of WebMerge 2.0b1, a tool for Mac OS and Windows that generates static Web pages from database or spreadsheet files. It provides more options for specifying how pages are generated, and supports more than a dozen new tags, which included HTML templates can use for assembling and linking Web content. A final version of the $80 application is due in late June, while purchasers of WebMerge 1.9.3 ($70) will receive a free upgrade.[Classic, OSX]
