Sophisticated Circuits has released the "Admin" version of PowerKey Pro 650, a new product in its line of intelligent, programmable power strips as well as new hardware upgrade program for PowerKey ProModel 600 Owners and updated PowerKey 4.1 software for OS X. [Classic, OSX]

The new Admin version of its PowerKey Pro 650 adds automatic CPU restart after computer crashes and after power outages as Rebound Technology for crash detection to the base "SOHO" model. The device supports, which supports USB Macs (and OS X), includes six individually controllable AC outlets, a built-in clock with scheduling functions, and a built-in telephone interface (for remote control via phone tones as well as invidual outlet control via switches on the unit, the instant software buttons, custom Hot Keys, or with AppleScript.

The "Admin" software also includes Sophisticated Circuits' iDo Script
Scheduler software and monoLog logging software for OS 9, which lacks
built-in support for these features. Upgrades from the SOHO model ($200) are $100, while new Admin models are $300.

The company also introduced a new hardware upgrade path for registered owners of its PowerKey Pro Model 600. Upgraded PowerKey Pros are supplied with a new case, updated electronics, a new USB interface cable, and completely new OS X-compatible PowerKey 4.1 software, as well as a one-year warranty on the entire unit. Upgrades from a PowerKey Pro 600 to a USB PowerKey Pro 650 are $150 for the "Admin" version and $100 for the "SOHO" version (plus return
shipping). Expected turn-around time is 2-3 weeks from the time of receipt of the customer's original PowerKey Pro Model 600.
