Other World Computing announced that it has been named as the exclusive worldwide distributor of all Newer Systems Technology, Inc. (d.b.a. Newer Technology, Inc.) products. Former vice-president Rick Estes earlier this month announced that he bought all the rights to Newer products after the company went into bankruptcy more than a year ago. Estes noted that Newer would begin to ship products next month. (Newer's software downloads are again available on its website.)

Ok so now I have my favorite upgrade company teamed with my favorite reseller. Now all I need is an upgrade for my Pismo and the world will be good.

    Upgrades?

Man, the upgrades market sucks now. The highest CPU is either 500mhz or 600mhz ...

it was cool back when I could upgrade my PowerCenter Pro to a 400mhz G3 (too bad PowerCenters can't have G4s) ... now, upgrades are STILL at that level, just $100 cheaper. I wouldn't mind upgrading my G4 466 to a G4 933 or something ...

I really wish Mac CPUs were easy to get and were offered with current CPU speeds like Intel and AMD chips. 500mhz?

Oh well. What dos this have to do with Newer? I dunno ... maybe one of these companies will someday get current CPUs that I can just pop out my old one and upgrade my 466 to something higher that isn't $700.

    terrible

This is terrible; OWC is the worst, most disorganized and unprofessional online retailer in existance. I have never experienced a more unhelpful and idiotic customer service department than through my dealings with OWC. I hope they go out of business soon.

    Re: Terrible

My experience with them is very much the opposite. I have had completely professional customer service that answered all my questions before I ordered an item. And when ever I ask for (and pay) for fedex 2nd day I always get it from them next day, at no extra cost. And I always get good working products at a discount from most other vendors.
